How To Make Your Own Website From Scratch!   by Al Beckett

Want to make your own website? Many people do, but they are often unsure of how to go about it. Your website can be about all sorts of things, from promoting affiliate products, to paying homage to your favourite film or TV show. This article will go over the basics and so you what you need to have in order to set up your very own website.

First of all, you'll need a domain name; this is your unique website address. The most widely used of these is the top level domain also known as the dot-com (www.yourwebsite.com). There are many sites on the internet on which you can register a domain name; these are known as domain name registrars. Sites like GoDaddy for example, offer domains for approximately $8.99 a year.

Second is Webspace. This is space that is stored on the computer of a hosting company, and will be where your website's files are stored. Again, there are many sites that offer website hosting and some even come bundled with a domain name, so both your website address and webspace can be found in the same place.

All that is needed now is to build your website. Some companies offer a free website builder with a variety of templates to use, but if you like, you can use programs such as Microsoft Frontpage. You can even pay a design team to create a website for you, but this is often quite expensive.
